This Web site reviews about 50 golf courses on the Costa del Sol, Spain. For each course, there is a simple graphic showing:
Example
See the example graph to the right. Each dot represents one golf course. You should hopefully understand the length of each course (the X-axis on the graph below). The difficulty rating (the Y-axis) may require a bit more explanation.
In the example, the Valderrama course is the yellow dot, the Guadalmina North course is the brown dot. Valderrama is only about 50 meters longer than Guadalmina North (about 1% longer). But Valderrama is a significantly harder course than Guadalmina North. An 18-handicap player going around Valderrama can expect to score 22 over par. The same 18-handicap player going around Guadalmina North can expect to score about 15-16 over par.
These graphics are interactive. Move your mouse over any dot and it should change colour to red. That means you can then click to go to our Web page covering that course.
Detailed data
The table below shows the raw data (length and difficulty) we use for each course we review. For the courses in italics, no official difficulty rating is available, so we used our judgement to assign one. The table also includes an indication of price for each course as a 'dollar figure' between $ and $$$$. These prices are indicative only and explained here. You can also download this table as a pdf.
